This special order tallboy gun range box is absolutely outstanding right down to our oversized custom trademark locking gun block which not only locks up all the triggers with a single pin, it also has headspace above so handguns with modern optics will fit into the gun block. To accommodate the oversized 3 bay locking gun block, the Canadian Tallboy has a whopping 9" of vertical space from the surface of the gun tray to the underside of the top of the gun box.
Our locking gun block utilizes ballistic grade flexible polycarbonate dividers between the bays with 3/8" UHMW plastic on the ends. UHMW is hailed as a wonder plastic, so tough that it is used to manufacture moving components on heavy machinery. The plastic has super smooth slippery plastic surface to protect your valuable handguns.
The typical distance from the top of the slide on a full size 1911 platform pistol secured in the locking gun block to the 2A3 rubber above the pistol in the gun block is 2.85 inches. The width of the bay for each pistol in the locking gun block is 2". While this is quite spacious, the bays in the gun block are divided by made in America ballistic grade polycarbonate which is flexible. This means the 2" width could be exceeded in the event some pistol had a larger than normal tubular optic.
With the stringent storage and transportation rules faced by Canadian handgun owners, if you are using platform based hand conforming custom grips in conjunction with rail mounted optics on your handguns, the Canadian Tallboy may be just what you need.
Your new Canadian Tallboy also includes our excellent compact spotting scope with 10 - 60X magnification complete with a factory mounted height adjustable bracket.
There is also lots of pass through storage for your eyes and ears, ammunition, range accessories and tools.
All gun boxes include a "hold open clamp" which securely holds the flip up front of your gun box in place if you are outdoors shooting on a windy day.
